The holding deck was awake with life as techs worked to repair the damaged craft. Zelithian pilots watched on eagerly and helped where ever they could. Zelei entered the bay with General Cornell all work came to a halt as he stepped forward and formed lines. Walked centre to is imperial drop ship. A team of Marines awaiting him armed and ready.

“Admiral. My team are ready for anything,” spoke up Sergeant Stone.

A hissing voice came from behind Zelei. He turned and came face to face with the Czar. They were clones of each other, all tall and slender, balled, covered in white coats and black boots and black glasses. Their teeth were sharp and faces looked leathery and aged.

“Admiral.” One of them spoke up.

“What is it?”

“We have an alarming problem, it is the cold.”

“I know it, there is nothing that can be done. You will have to wait till I return.”

“To a ghost ship you will return too, if precautions are not taken immediately.”

“Such as?” Asked Zelei hoping for an immediate resolve but not expecting one.

“Deep freeze the carrier.”

“Deep freeze. What do you call this already?” He gestured their surroundings, ever since the power went off line the temperature inside ‘War Child’ had dropped considerably.

“The method is old, yet it serves it purpose. We speed the build up of ice until the walls are a foot thick. This will keep the cold out and should keep our temperatures at no less than zero. You will then have a living crew to come back too.”

“Do what you have too.”

“Yesssss, admiral.”

With that Zelei bordered the craft, the door closing behind him. The Czar walked away with the General to commence their task of Deep freezing War Child.

The Space Harrier was unable to be raised to the runway via the lift as the power was out. By manual control the above deck doors opened, the pilot hovered the Harrier up the funnels into orbit. With a thrust of the exhausts the Harrier accelerated towards its destination.

Zelei was happy to leave ‘War Child.’ He knew it was not permanent. Before he would return and once again take command.

It was warm within the Harrier. Such a small space was easy to heat. He thought about what the Czar was going to do upon his return. His Super Carrier will be a giant igloo. ‘What would happen when it all melts?’ he wondered.
